Winter Butterflies

Dry oak leaves slide
over the milky-white
and grey-green ice
and turn and dance
with the cold wind
like winter butterflies.

   1. Thanks! It was a striking moment of joy, seeing those leaves slide, turn, lift up, and fall back on the ice, as the wind blew over the lake.
